Expanding Access for Boston Public School Students Across the City
February 4 - April 30
ON January 10th, at the State of the City address, Mayor Wu announced a new initiative to expand access to museums for Boston families, in which the ICA will gladly participate. The City’s program will provide free access to Boston cultural institutions for Boston Public School students and their families on the first two Sundays a month, beginning in February. This is a welcome recognition of the ICA’s leadership in the area of access and open doors, and we are thrilled that free admission to Boston cultural institutions will broaden across the city.
The ICA welcomes thousands of young people each year through our free admission program for youth 18 and under; the +1 free membership initiative which invites any youth or teen to bring an adult for free; and the ICA Bus Fund to ensure not only access but much needed transportation for Boston Public School group visits. This new partnership with the City leverages the great power of the Mayor to amplify our message of welcome. We look forward to assisting the City in these efforts, and continuing our longstanding focus on sharing the power of contemporary art with everyone in Boston and beyond.
With warmest wishes,
Jill Medvedow
